I was tasked to develop digital immersive experiences for some of the biggest brands in the bank, hospitality, automobile and telecommunication industries. Due to confidentiality the brand logos have been redacted. These projects ranged from POCs to Client Engagements, to showcases at a global level.

I was tasked to develop digital immersive experiences for some of the biggest brands in the bank, hospitality, automobile and telecommunication industries. My Role

My responsibility as a designer in the team was to meet client expectations and clearly draw out the requirements. These were quick turn around projects so it required agile methodologies to meet the deadlines.

These projects usually had two work groups, one working on the brand assets that would populate the space and the second working on the experience in the space itself. I worked on the later while coordinating with the first team for asset optimisation in a 3d environment.

Challenges

The biggest challenge with the POCs was to manage client expectations while pushing the technology to the highest fidelity. As the team grew, I also had to delegate and manage teams building the spaces.

Tools

We needed a solution that could leverage existing platforms to eliminate the process of constantly working on code, given the time sensitivity of these projects.

I leveraged Blender to build most of these spaces. Its open source nature and ease of use helped me rapidly prototype and build the spaces

I used spatial as the hosting platform for the spaces. Spatial had in built avatars and physics systems developed on unity. It was also available on all VR headsets as well as mobile and web devices, which made it easily accessible regardless of the platforms.
